Additionally, to get the most value out of this, you'll need to be clear about your needs and expectations. It is also necessary to have a contract in place, make sure that you either read through & completely understand the terms of the services provided, or that you have your lawyer review the contracts as a precaution. This contract should outline the duties of you as the AFH facility/employer, the agency responsibilities and the caregiver and the caregiver compensation.

ONCE YOU'VE FOUND A FEW POTENTIAL CAREGIVERS, BE SURE TO INTERVIEW THEM:

  • Ask about their experience, qualifications, and availability.

  • Also be sure to ask about their rates and agree on their compensation during the interview process.

  • Caregivers should be able to provide you with a list of references that you can contact.

  • Check references and reviews.

Finally, be sure to trust your instincts when making a decision.
